Post 2: Why is important geometry?

Why is important geometry?

When we were children we wondered why we should learn geometry ... Over the years you're going to realize that the geometry is very important because it is present in our daily lives.

Here I show you several tips about why it is important to teach and learn geometry:

-Geometry is present in our everyday language. By this I mean that often in our day to day we use many more geometric terms than we believe. For example: straight line, curve, circle, square, etc. Therefore, here we can see that the importance of knowing geometry is much greater than we think. In order to communicate our location we need to use geometric terminology. To conclude, we can say that the geometric vocabulary does not help to understand with greater accuracy.

-Geometry is closely linked to all branches of mathematics. It can be said that geometry is a resource that serves to learn algebraic concepts, arithmetic and even statistics. Usually teachers use geometric elements to help students better understand the agenda that are giving.

-Geometry has a big implication in our life. Although we do not realize geometry is present in everything around us (TV, mobile, books, etc). The concept of geometry is a concept that is easy to understand just by looking around. With some basic notions about geometry you can discover which figures make up each object that surrounds us, for example in the nature.

-Geometry is a resource for our students to develop spatial perception.

-Geometry can be used as a model for organizing objects and figures in a logical way.
