Geometry with sticks and sweets!

As we have seen in other blog posts, geometry can be very fun. With this activity we can discover and learn how to work geometry in the sweetest way.

This activity offers many learning opportunities that can be adapted to the child's age and level. With it students can learn to:


  • Distinguish between two-dimensional and three-dimensional objects.
  • Create objects, such as houses.
  • Learn the names and characteristics of some polygons, as well as their main elements: side, vertex, perimeter, interior angles.
  • Know the names and characteristics of some polyhedra.
  • See the differences between prisms and pyramids.
  • Study the elements of the polyhedra, such as faces, edges and vertices.
  • Make predictions about the number of chopsticks and chops that are needed to build a given polyhedron.
